After recently getting a pay raise, I decided to celebrate by eating out at Orlando restaurants for dinner each night of the past week. However, I didn’t just go to random restaurants and spend as much as I could. There are a few restaurants that I always go to, and I’m going to list and review each one of them here. Each restaurant has a few important things that I look for, and I’ll mention them as well.
Hemisphere Restaurant is kind of a tough restaurant for a lot of people to eat at, because it’s inside of the Orlando International Airport. I could have eaten here every night even without my pay raise, because the prices are so reasonable.That’s the first thing that I always look for in a restaurant, because if the prices are too high then it doesn’t matter how good the food is. I won’t be able to order it. The next thing I look for should be kind of obvious, and that’s the caliber of the food.
Is it undercooked, do the chefs add little garnishes, etc. Hemisphere Restaurant tops my list specifically because of the first two categories. Hemisphere restaurant offers a great selection of food, with the variety ranging from seafood to regular American food. Seafood is definitely one of my favorite, so it’s a no-brainer that the seafood chowder is my favorite dish. However, I usually get it as a side so I can try something else on the menu.
Out of all the entrees, I think that the pork kimchi sliders are my favorite. The chefs really don’t hold back with the proportions, so there’s usually some leftovers to take home. There’s nothing wrong with that anyways, unless you’re boarding a plane later as opposed to getting off one. Then you probably can’t take the food with you. I travel a lot for business, so it’s convenient to have a great restaurant right there for me in the airport.
Airport food is usually not very good, but Hemisphere Restaurant really defied my expectations. All of the food tastes like the chefs really care about each individual customer, and I love it so much. It’s almost as if the chefs knows you personally, and their sole purpose if just to serve you food that you love. It’s a craft, really, and I haven’t seen a lot of restaurants in Orlando replicate it. I haven’t seen many restaurants in any city replicate that, in fact.
Everything about the food is great, which is the whole reason that you’re at the restaurant to begin with. Even the ingredients taste really fresh. I’m not sure how they get the supplies through the security in the airport, though. We still manage to get our Orlando hood cleaning team in there, and Hemisphere is really good about getting their kitchen cleaned. Having a grease fire in an airport would be one of the worst possible catastrophes, and everyone in the airport would have to be evacuated.

One more thing I’d like to commend Hemisphere Restaurant for is the service. Not once has my glass been empty, and that’s the way I like it. Greenbeat is for all the vegetarians and vegans out there. Those of you who live or work in Orlando’s central business district are in luck. The location only makes Greenbeat an even better spot for business lunches, and it’s actually where I conduct the majority of mine in Orlando. My favorite dish here is the portobello feast with chicken, but you don’t have to have meat in your salad. I just prefer to eat mine that way, with lots of dressing as well.
Helps get rid of the healthy taste that salads are known for. Here, you know all the ingredients are going to be ultra fresh. When your food is entirely composed of natural produce, there’s no way you could eat canned food. I appreciate the service here as well, and the wait staff really knows what they’re doing. They’re all friendly and helpful, so don’t worry if you don’t know which salad to order. Each one of the waiters and waitresses knows the entire menu, so don’t be shy and ask them for suggestions.
My favorite is to ask them what the majority of people have been ordering today, because somehow they actually remember things like that. You would be surprised at how experienced they are at their jobs, and it makes you feel like you’re eating at a really high-end establishment. All of the other important aspects were covered in the first review, so there isn’t much else I can say without being too redundant. Greenbeat has a lot of great reviews online, so you can also read one of those.
Last but not least, there’s Norman’s. Here, you’ll be dining in southwest Orlando. This Orlando restaurant’s specialty is tapas, and they do them really well. I put this one last on the list because it’s also a wine bar, and I knew that this suggestion won’t apply to a lot of people. Norman’s has a great selection of wines and food, so you should be satisfied no matter what you went for. If you went for both, you’ll also be pleasantly surprised (as I was) that it’s all very affordable
. Even the drinks, which are typically pretty expensive. I’ve always had a tough time deciding which dish at Norman’s is my favorite, but know that the Cuban sweet potato mash is killer. My wife usually gets the conch chowder, which she tells me is just as good. I’m usually too full to try any. Both of us have left positive reviews online, and we look forward to the next time we can eat at Norman’s.
